George Clooney’s newest film, which we could say is his own Ocean’s Eleven in World War II, will premiere at the 64th Berlin Film Festival, which will take place next February.
In line with the recent news about the paintings found in Munich, The Monuments Men tells the story of a platoon that, after the war has ended, is in charge of retrieving paintings stolen by the Nazis to return them to their owners. Sort of the other side of Ocean’s Eleven, actually. Oh, and Clooney sports a moustache – he is bringing them back.
The next edition of the Berlinale will happen from the 6th to the 16th of February 2014, premiering in the UK on February 21st.
Judge for yourselves, but it does look pretty good. It seems like now Clooney takes his time with films because he only wants to make high-quality, Academy Award-worthy movies -not that his main purpose is winning Oscars, but they are so good that they always get nominated.
Anyway, it has been pushed back to such a late release date, that it is obviously impossible that this one goes to the Oscars.
