Doctor Who 10×7 Review: The Pyramid at the End of the World

Like I’ve been saying for weeks, it seems as if Moffat has been collecting plenty of good ideas, hoarding them somewhere in his office, to then use them all at once for Capaldi’s final season. And what a season both of them are giving us. Continue reading

Film Review: Baywatch

I love it when films don’t take themselves too seriously. It allows them to fool around, to make jokes at their own expense, and to wink at us, the audience, so that we become part of the game. And that is exactly what happens with Baywatch, the movie. Continue reading

The final day at MCM came and went, and even though I saw fewer panels than I expected, it was a good experience. Continue reading

Film Review: Pirates of the Caribbean – Salazar’s Revenge

Two things before we begin: first, I consider Pirates of the Caribbean to be a trilogy, and anything else that has come afterwards is just unnecessary footage that I don’t even want to be bothered with; second, why do film titles have to be different in the UK? I have spent the last few months thinking this movie was called Dead Men Tell No Tales. Get your act together, Disney! Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×6 Review: Extremis

I will admit it: I was wrong. For weeks, I have been proclaiming that I was sure John Simm’s Master was inside the vault, and this sixth episode has confirmed that the person inside was, in fact, Missy -although she is also the Master, so I was sort of right, anyway. This early reveal definitely helps this series get more action, instead of dragging that mystery all the way to the finale. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×5 Review: Oxygen

Am I the only one who thinks Peter Capaldi should stay for at least one more season? He is killing it this year, and he deserves to shine after two series that may not have allowed him to do so -totally not blaming him, but a few scripts that didn’t do any favours to the show. Continue reading

Praise for Better Call Saul’s ‘Chicanery’

It is difficult for a show that already excels every week to have a truly outstanding episode. It happens to Better Call Saul the same way it happened to its predecessor, Breaking Bad. Always great episodes, always flawless, but oh boy, when a top one came along, it made the show even better. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×4 Review: Knock Knock

One of the key aspects of Doctor Who, besides, you know, aliens and such, is mystery. But not any kind of mystery: I’m talking about that spooky plotline that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end (remember Blink?), and that is pretty much what happens on “Knock Knock.” Continue reading
