Film Review: Power Rangers

Do not be fooled by my review below: this is the review of a girl who spent her childhood watching Power Rangers every afternoon after coming home from school. Continue reading

Film Review: Lion

lion-5

Few movies in my life I have branded as pieces of art. Normally it has to do with films that make me cry -okay, I cry with most films, but Lion certainly deserves a special place. Continue reading

Film Review: Now You See Me 2

now you see me 2 china

Never in my life would I have imagined that Now You See Me would be one of those movies that gets a sequel. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoyed it, but it had never crossed my mind that there would be a second story to it. Which is why I approached the sequel with skepticism. Continue reading

Film Review: The Nice Guys

TNG_Day_#34_12122014-131.dng

One of the key aspects to a film’s success, especially if said film is a comedy, is the chemistry between its main actors, and I think that is what makes The Nice Guys work. That and its ludicrous script. Continue reading

Film Review: Eddie the Eagle

eddie the eagle review

I hate it when people treat a ‘feel-good film’ as something that can’t be taken seriously. Granted, that’s sort of the way I went to watch Eddie the Eagle. But like Eddie himself, this movie is not fooling around, and it’s there to be taken seriously indeed. Continue reading

Film Review: The Big Short

the big short - carell gosling

I have never understood financial gibberish. Not because I’m stupid, but because I was never into maths or anything of the sort, so one would think that a film that spends its two hours talking about the stock market and mortgages wouldn’t be engaging from my point of view. Continue reading

Film Review: In the Heart of the Sea

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA

Here’s something I must confess about myself: I have an irrational fear of whales. It’s always been like that, I just can’t explain it (though I’ll blame Pinocchio for it). I have always been wary of sea creatures in general, but the thought of swimming underwater and suddenly come across a massive creature with weird teeth has always haunted me in my dreams. I know, how on Earth would I find a whale in Southeast Spain, where you can walk more than 2 km into the sea and the water is still knee-deep? Whatever, they creep me out. Continue reading

Film Review: Spectre

The thing about films you already love in advance is that, even though you try hard not to be biased, your credibility as a movie critic crumbles from the first line. Continue reading

Tom Hardy purists, this might be the film for you. Otherwise, I honestly don’t think that you will like Legend. Continue reading
