Film Review: Toy Story 4

I must admit that, when I heard they were making a fourth Toy Story, my reaction was pessimistic. What was the need? Aren’t we overstuffed with sequels? Toy Story 3 had brought the perfect ending to this tale. Continue reading

Film Review: Aquaman

It is difficult to review a superhero film, because the scale is different. How am I going to talk about a comic book movie and put it in the same scale as your typical Oscar-bait tear-jerker? Which is something film critics should stop doing, by the way. But at least I can say this: even the worst Marvel film is better than the best DC one. Continue reading

Netflix has Mastered Teen Movies -Grown-Up Ones, not so Much

I hadn’t planned to review nor recap any of those Netflix films you decide to watch at night in the comfort of your couch, let alone write a whole mini-essay on them. But after one too many bored nights of scrolling through what the Netflix Al-Gore-rhythm (bless you, Titus) recommended, I noticed a pattern that is sticking: the films for teenagers are good, and the ones oriented at adults tend to be total crap -yes that is the scientific term for it. Continue reading

Film Review: Deadpool 2

Deadpool has returned, but you all knew that already, didn’t you? What with all the insane marketing campaigning. Which I loved. Continue reading

Very Short Guide of What Justice League Could Have Improved

It is pointless to write a full on review about Justice League. If I say it’s the worst, I’d be lying, because I have seen worse movies. Continue reading

What I Loved the Most About Thor: Ragnarok

I already decided a long time ago that I am not going to write reviews of movies I know in advance I’m going to love. What’s the point? I can’t write an objective review if I spend a thousand words praising it like it’s the end of the world. Continue reading

Film Review: Logan Lucky

I feel that whenever a person says they are retiring, it’s mostly so that they can make a glorious comeback. Seriously, nobody seems to be retiring for good these days. Continue reading

Film Review: Baywatch

I love it when films don’t take themselves too seriously. It allows them to fool around, to make jokes at their own expense, and to wink at us, the audience, so that we become part of the game. And that is exactly what happens with Baywatch, the movie. Continue reading

Film Review: Pirates of the Caribbean – Salazar’s Revenge

Two things before we begin: first, I consider Pirates of the Caribbean to be a trilogy, and anything else that has come afterwards is just unnecessary footage that I don’t even want to be bothered with; second, why do film titles have to be different in the UK? I have spent the last few months thinking this movie was called Dead Men Tell No Tales. Get your act together, Disney! Continue reading

Film Review: Power Rangers

Do not be fooled by my review below: this is the review of a girl who spent her childhood watching Power Rangers every afternoon after coming home from school. Continue reading
