Doctor Who 10×9 Review: Empress of Mars

I must say something in advance: I love Mark Gatiss’s episodes, so I can’t be partial here. I know his scripts can be divisive, but I found ‘Empress of Mars’ to be true to the Doctor Who spirit and highly enjoyable. I’m not the only one to think this, am I? Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×8 Review: The Lie of the Land

Doctor Who always makes us viewers ponder existence, the effects of our actions and the very nature of humanity. It succeeds like no other show, and the resolution to the Orc Monk invasion gave us just that. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×7 Review: The Pyramid at the End of the World

Like I’ve been saying for weeks, it seems as if Moffat has been collecting plenty of good ideas, hoarding them somewhere in his office, to then use them all at once for Capaldi’s final season. And what a season both of them are giving us. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×5 Review: Oxygen

Am I the only one who thinks Peter Capaldi should stay for at least one more season? He is killing it this year, and he deserves to shine after two series that may not have allowed him to do so -totally not blaming him, but a few scripts that didn’t do any favours to the show. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×4 Review: Knock Knock

One of the key aspects of Doctor Who, besides, you know, aliens and such, is mystery. But not any kind of mystery: I’m talking about that spooky plotline that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end (remember Blink?), and that is pretty much what happens on “Knock Knock.” Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×3 Review: Thin Ice

I must admit that my favourite Doctor Who episodes, by far, are always the ones set in the past, in important historical events or that feature historical characters. I love spaceships and whatnot, but give me an episode set in the past and I’m instantly sold. Continue reading

Doctor Who 10×2 Review: Smile

There is an aspect of Doctor Who that has always excelled, and that is their use of metaphors. They translate a modern-day issue into a plotline about an alien race, and then, without us even realising it, the show is giving us a lecture on politics, acceptance and tolerance. Continue reading

The Doctor is Coming Back in April!

My headline is not exactly the biggest scoop ever, but guys, we finally have a specific date for the Doctor’s return, and that date is April 15. Continue reading

Doctor Who 9×12 Review: Hell Bent

clara doctor dinner 9x12

Oh, Steven Moffat. How. Amazing. Was. That. Finale.

I expected it to be mildly okay. After all, the Gallifrey plotline didn’t get a lot of buildup throughout the series. Even the first minutes in the Doctor’s home planet seemed to go a bit slow. But as it usually happens with Moffat-penned episodes, a few plot twists left us awestruck and elaborating a new theory every two minutes. Continue reading

Doctor Who 9×11 Review: Heaven Sent

capaldi heaven sent

After all these years, I honestly thought that there were no odd twists and no intricate plotlines left for Steven Moffat to make up. But apparently, I was wrong. Continue reading
